
Yesterday the Russian Figure Skating Federation announced that the ISU Grand Prix event Rostelecom Cup will be held in Moscow at the Megasport Arena.
The 13,000-seat sports palace opened in 2006 and was the home of the Rostelecom Cup from 2007 to 2012. After a brief stint in a different arena in Moscow, the event has returned to Megasport since 2016.
The 2020 edition is set to take place from November 20 to 22 – the fifth event of the ISU Grand Prix series. The list of participants is yet to be announced, as the list of assignments has been delayed for another week.
The Federation also announced that both stages of the Cup of Russia which are scheduled to take place in Moscow will be held at Megasport Arena as well. The second stage will be held from October 10 to 13; the fifth stage will be held from December 5 to 8. Each of these events are set to include big names like Evgenia Medvedeva, Alexandra Trusova, Aliona Kostornaia, and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva.
