On Sunday, the Instagram account of Evgeny Plushenko’s figure skating academy (@angelsofplushenko) posted a video clip of their star student, 17-year-old Alena Kostornaia, skating part of her short program in practice.
Kostornaia presented the short program at the Russian test skates. It features a mix of Billie Eilish’s songs – James Bond’s theme song No Time to Die and You Should See Me in a Crown – and was choreographed by Kostornaia’s coach Sergei Rozanov.
The post and translated caption to English:
Kostornaia is the world record holder of points received for the short program, having received 85.45 points at the 2019-2020 ISU Grand Prix Final last December in Italy on her way to a gold medal. Her secret ingredient has been her great artistry and incredible triple axel.
The 2020 European Champion has yet to present her free skate, which is said to be choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne. Last year’s Russian National Championship silver medalist, Kostornaia is set to compete in the last two stages of the Cup of Russia series – from November 8 to 12 in Kazan, and from December 5 to 8 in Moscow.
