Russian news agency TASS was able to acquire information that two-time World Junior figure skating champion Alexandra Trusova no longer trains with Sergei Rozanov.

Trusova and Rozanov both left Eteri Tutberidze’s Khrustalny in May for Evgeny Plushenko’s Angels of Plushenko. Now a source from inside the team says that even though there was no conflict, Trusova chose not to work with Rozanov anymore. She is also not part of Alexander Volkov’s group. The 16-year-old trains with Plushenko, Dmitri Mikhailov, and Sergei Alexeev.

Eteri Tutberidze’s social media post announcing Alexandra Trusova’s and Sergei Rozanov’s departures in May, including translation to English:

“Of course, getting used to athletes leaving is impossible. After all, working together – we eventually become a family, overcoming constantly arising obstacles on the way. Good athletes and specialists will always be invited and offered more favorable conditions. How to respond to these offers is everyone’s decision. But our team is different in that we educate and create these athletes and specialists ourselves. Of course, we will never offer more tempting terms, otherwise trust will disappear. Working together, we give a part of our lives, a part of ourselves. #keepworking”

Rozanov remains listed as the choreographer of Trusova’s programs this season.

Trusova was the world’s top junior skater, rarely placing lower than first place; during her debut season at the senior level, Trusova finished in third place on a number of occasions behind her then-teammates Anna Shcherbakova and Alena Kostornaia – most notably at the ISU Grand Prix Final, the Russian Nationals, and the European Championship.

The “quad queen” holds multiple records as the first and most landed quadruple jumps in international competitions.
