
Skating to P!nk’s Glitter in the Air, last season’s U.S. National silver medalist Mariah Bell started her short program with a double axel. The 24-year-old, who won a silver medal at Skate America in 2016 and two bronze medals at Grand Prix events last year, also landed a triple flip-triple toe loop combination and a double Lutz. She received a score of 76.48 points.
2018 U.S. National champion Bradie Tennell opened her short program with a double axel. The 22-year-old Illinoisan landed a triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination and triple flip. She earned a total score of 73.29 points and stands second.
15-year-old Audrey Shin opened her short program with a triple Lutz-triple toe loop. With a clean double axel and triple loop, the young skater received a total score of 69.77 points for third place.
Former Olympian Gracie Gold performed her short program to Destiny Child’s Survivor. The 25-year-old started her program with a doubled Lutz and a double axel, and then did a just double flip instead of a needed combination. She earned a total score of 46.36 points.
