17-year-old Estonian figure skater Eva-Lotta Kiibus has been added to the list of assignees for the Russian stage of the ISU Grand Prix series.
The event is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22 at the Megasport Sport Palace in Moscow. This season, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all of the competitors in each ISU Grand Prix event are domestic skaters and those who train in the country or geographical region of the countries hosting the stages.
Two-time World champion Evgenia Medvedeva, 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaia, and two-time Russian National champion Anna Shcherbakova are among the headliners for the upcoming Rostelecom Cup – which will feature a strong field of Russian figure skaters, as well as a few of Europe’s best.
Kiibus has had a successful start to the current season – she won a gold medal at the Nebelhorn Trophy in September and a silver medal at the Budapest Trophy this month. The reigning Estonian National champion was assigned to the French stage of the ISU Grand Prix series – Internationaux de France; however, that event was been cancelled due to newly implemented restrictions in the country because of increased COVID-19 cases.
Also newly added to the Russian event are Lithuanian ice dancers Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevicius.
