On the last weekend of October, due to the cancellation of the Canadian stage of the ISU Grand Prix series, all eyes will be on the the smaller international figure skating competition Ice Star in Belarus.

Headlined by Alexei Mishin’s skaters – including 2019 European champion Sofia Samodurova & World and European Championship bronze medalist Mikhail Kolyada – the annual competition in Minsk already begins Thursday. The competition will be available on YouTube by the Skating Union of Belarus.

Trophée Romand, was set to take place in Lausanne starting Friday, and was expected to be headlined by Stephane Lambiel’s athletes. The domestic-turned-international competition had some inaccuracies on the list of entries, most notably Rika Kihira’s name entry; however, the Japanese skater announced on Twitter that she had not entered this event. Right before the scheduled start of the competition, it was announced that the event is cancelled.
