The updated list of assignments for the Russian stage of this season’s ISU Grand Prix series shows the addition of Evgeni Semenenko and Artem Kovalev, as well as an ice dance couple from Hungary.
Moscow will host the third stage of this season’s series from November 20 to 22 at the Megasport Sport Palace. With many cancellations of international competitions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Rostelecom Cup is the next scheduled ISU event to take place.
Winner of this week’s fourth stage of the Cup of Russia series, Semenenko replaces Artur Danielian. Danielian, who last competed at the European Championship in January – where he won a silver medal, is dealing with an ankle injury this season. Artem Kovalev is also among the new additions to the men’s event – the 17-year-old trains with Evgeny Plushenko and Alexander Volkov, and won the first two stages of the Cup of Russia series this season.
The Hungarian ice dance couple of Anna Yanovskaya and Adam Lukacs have also been added to the competition. They have been skating together since 2016 and last placed 19th at both the 2019 European and 2019 World Championships.
Also, Russian pair Daria Pavliuchenko and Denis Khodykin have withdrawn from the event. They previously won gold medals at the third stage at the Cup of Russia series in Sochi.
