
2018 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World and seven-time European champion Javier Fernandez announced on his Instagram account that he is starting his own figure skating academy.
According to his post, the registration opens November 20.
Fernandez has gained knowledge and trained with many great coaches throughout his career, including legendary Russian instructor Nikolai Morozov and, since 2011, Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson in Toronto.
An eight-time Spanish National champion, the 29-year-old Spaniard last participated in a singles competition in January 2019 – winning the 2019 European championship. In October 2019, he competed in the 2019 Japan Open – place fifth in his division and winning gold overall for Team Europe.
