The Figure Skating Federation of Russia announced that the fifth stage of the Cup of Russia series will be held without spectators in attendance.
Of the first four events of the series – only the third stage, in Sochi, took place without fans in the stands. The final fifth stage will take place without an audience just two weeks after the stands were filled, at a limited capacity, during the Russian stage of the ISU Grand Prix series.
Megasport Sport Palace in Moscow will host the event from December 5 to 8, and it is currently expected to feature most of the recent Rostelecom Cup medalists – Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Alena Kostornaia, Anastasia Guliakova, Mikhail Kolyada, Petr Gumennik, Aleksandra Boikova and Dmitrii Kozlovskii, Tiffani Zagorski and Jonathan Guerreiro, as well as Anastasia Skoptsova and Kirill Aleshin.
Also among the expected participants are reigning World Junior champion Kamila Valieva, reigning European champion Dmitri Aliev, last season’s World Junior champions Apollinariia Panfilova and Dmitri Rylov, World Junior Championship silver medalists Ksenia Akhantieva and Valery Kolesov, and four-time European Championship medalists who are yet to make their season’s debut Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin.
Channel One will show the entire event on their website and will also broadcast the ladies’ event on television in Russia.
