Reigning European and Russian national champion Dmitri Aliev is forced to miss the Russian National Figure Skating Championships, which start December 24 in Chelyabinsk.
Alexander Gorshkov, President of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia, told RIA Novosti that “Dmitri Aliev will not compete; doctors are not allowing him yet.” Aliev’s name was subsequently removed from the list of practice groups for the National Championships.
The 21-year-old figure skater had tested positive for COVID-19 in early December and missed the fifth stage of the Cup of Russia series two weeks ago.
