After a year with Evgeni Plushenko, the two-time World Junior champion and bronze medalist at the World and European Championships, Russia’s Alexandra Trusova, is returning to Eteri Tutberidze.
Plushenko announced the news in an Instagram post stating, “On May 1, our contract ended, and by mutual desire of the two sides, we did not renew it.” He also said that Trusova will work with her previous coaches.

The 16-year-old figure skater initially joined Tutberidze in 2016 and went on to win two World Junior titles and a bronze medal at the 2020 European Championships during her debut senior season. In May of last year, Trusova departed from the Sambo-70 school and joined Plushenko – she went on to win a bronze medal at the World Championships as the Russian ladies swept the podium.
Trusova rejoins Khrustalny after two-time World champion Evgenia Medvedeva and 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaia – who also spent just a season with Plushenko – returned to Tutberidze throughout the pandemic-stricken 2020-2021 season.
