Japanese figure skater, two-time Four Continents champion, Rika Kihira will be training with Canadian coach Brian Orser in Toronto, Canada for the 2021-2022 season. This was announced by Kihira’s management.

During the summer of 2020, it was reported that Kihira would be traveling to Toronto in order to train with Orser; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she began training in Switzerland under Stephane Lambiel for the 2020-2021 season. Following the easing of traveling restrictions into Canada, the 19-year-old two-time defending national champion decided to move her training to North America.

59-year-old Orser is a two-time Olympic silver medalist himself and is known for coaching another great Japanese figure skater, Yuzuru Hanyu, two two Olympic gold medals. He also trained 2010 Olympic gold medalist Yuna Kim.
