The International Skating Union (ISU) announced that the 2022 ISU Four Continents Championships will not take place as scheduled in Tianjin, China from January 17 to 22.
Similarly to the previously cancelled Cup of China, the Chinese Skating Association informed the ISU about the decision to cancel the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Reasons for the decision were cited as strict travel restrictions, quarantine requirements, safety concerns, and logistical challenges.
The ISU is looking to move the event to a different country and issued an invitation for ISU Members to apply to host the competition on the same date.
