Alexandra Trusova leads at U.S. Classic after short program

In her first competition of the season, the 2021 U.S. International Classic, two-time World Junior champion Alexandra Trusova attempted a triple axel in the short program and holds the lead as she’s next expected to deliver a quad-filled free skate tomorrow.

The 17-year-old Russian fell on the axel attempt but successfully completed a triple flip and a triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination. Trusova received a score of 74.75 points.
