Russian ice dancer Tiffany Zagorski has returned to training this week after having been hospitalized because of pneumococcal meningitis last month.
Coaches of the figure skater told RIA Novosti, “Tiffany began to slowly train on the ice, in a light mode, but it is too early to talk about the timing of her full recovery, and, accordingly, in tournaments. We are trying to prepare for the Russian Championships. She feels good, but she gets the load very carefully. Doctors also forbid to speed up the preparation.”
Zagorski has partnered with Jonathan Guerreiro since the 2014-2015 season, placing second at the Russian Nationals last season and third twice prior. They participated at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where they placed thirteenth, and competed at the World Championships on two occasions – eighth place in 2018 and tenth place in 2021.
The couple was due to take part at Skate America and the Internationaux de France this season; however, were forced to withdraw from their ISU Grand Prix assignments due to Zagorski’s illness.
