Alexander Kogan, General Director of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia, revealed that two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time World champion Yuzuru Hanyu has obtained a Russian visa and is expected at the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix stage in Sochi from November 26 to 28.

Kogan told Russian media, “Not all athletes will be able to take part, some withdraw, primarily, due to injury, someone will be changed by the ISU, and someone will not have time to receive a visa. As of now, Yuzuru Hanyu is planning to visit us, tickets have been bought, he received a visa, we are waiting for him in Sochi.”

Hanyu was previously expected to participate at the NHK Trophy in Japan last week but was forced to withdraw due to an injury on November 4.
