Schedule and participants of the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Championships

The 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Championships are scheduled to take place from January 3 to 9 in Nashville, Tennessee. National champions will be crowned in the men’s, women’s, pairs’, and ice dance disciplines on both the senior and junior levels.

Results of the competition will be part of the selection criteria for the U.S. team at the 2022 Four Continents Championships, the 2022 Winter Olympics, the 2022 World Junior Championships, and the 2022 World Championships.

Five-time champion Nathan Chen, two-time champion Bradie Tennell, champions in their first season together Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, as well as three-time champions Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won the national titles last year. On December 31, Tennell announced that she has withdrawn from the competition due to an ongoing leg injury. On January 5, Knierim and Frazier were forced to withdraw from the pairs’ event due to a positive COVID-19 test result by Frazier.

Eric Prober, Isabeau Levito, Anastasiia Smirnova and Danil Siianytsia, and Katarina Wolfkostin and Jeffrey Chen won the junior national titles last season. Levito, as well as Wolfkostin and Chen, will participate in the senior competition this year.

On December 27 it was announced that all spectators over the age of 5 will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within three days prior to entering the venue. Additionally, masks will be required for everyone inside the Bridgestone Arena. The arena will use the Clear app as it has for the city’s National Hockey League (NHL) team games and other events held at the facility. There will be no on-site testing available for spectators at the Bridgestone Arena.

Those accredited to access the Bridgestone Arena’s event level will be required to provide a negative test result regardless of vaccination status to receive accreditation. Also, all accredited individuals participating in the event for more than four days will be required to take a second, on-site, test at the expense of U.S. Figure Skating.

The competition will be available live on Peacock, with the senior events also being broadcast on the USA Network and the NBC television channels in the United States. Japanese viewers can watch on the J Sports website; other international viewers can watch the competition on the Olympic Channel.
